The mission trip to Bangladesh this November had a very successful and rewarding two week visit to Dhaka, Dumki and Madaripur to visit the LHCB hospital and community development programs. The travelers included Pastor Lynn Peterson who last visited Bangladesh in 1997 with her father and our founder, Dr. Bud Peterson, for the dedication of the LHCB hospital. Karin Robeck (Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse) was making her third visit to Bangladesh, and Dr. Karna Lundquist (Pediatrician) was making her fifth visit since 2003. There were two first time visitors to Bangladesh this year: Dr. Elizabeth Raskin (Colon and Rectal Surgeon) and Gretchen Erpelding (Certified Nurse Anesthetist). This year with Gretchen's training, Dr. Subrata and the senior nurses learned to administer spinal anesthesia. This is a significant advancement in patient care for LHCB. With this new technique, c-sections and surgeries will be easier to perform, and the patients will be safer and suffer fewer side effects.
